Hugh Jones provides clients with technical leadership of IT projects and procurement, focusing on systems integration, process automation, team building and problem solving.
Hugh has over 30 years’ experience in senior IT management roles, encompassing project portfolio management, software development, infrastructure solutions, consulting, technical support, customer service, contact centres, procurement and outsourcing.
As Director of Product Support Services at Microsoft, Hugh transformed technical support services from a cost-based model to one based on outcomes and customer satisfaction, improving customer satisfaction with technical support by 50% across all Australian market segments. As Australian CIO of IT services firm Datacom, Hugh was responsible for the complete range of IT services to support company operations and managed an extensive Agile project portfolio. Among Hugh’s achievements in this role were Microsoft Office 365 migration, a new ERP platform, automated payroll and workforce management systems, virtualisation and offshoring.
Hugh’s recent activities include development of an IT strategy for Lifeline and providing Virtual CIO services and Salesforce implementation for a rapidly growing commercial design and retail business.
Coming from a technical advisory background, Hugh has a pragmatic, fact-driven management style with a blame-free approach to troubleshooting which leads to high levels of trust within teams. Hugh advocates an iterative approach to the development of solutions with high levels of involvement from stakeholders and end users.
